about

Recorded and mixed in a three day marathon in a borrowed house in the hills. One of our last recording session with Gary Devlin. Who was an integral part to No Flowers No Wedding Dress and our sound. Nigel Parry by this stage had left the band so we were honed down to 3-peice. It was a fun weekend and we had Derek Hall there as always to help Gary with the hard work while the band made noise and a mess.

lyrics

When Giants roamed the earth, before the need to conquer.
And the taming of the land, where the price is the procedure.
And I hope you understand.
The carbon beat, the methane heat, the rhythm of creation.
But I don’t know why the caged bird sings.

It’s only in this heat only in this heartland
I can find my feet and say cool down.

Summer sleeps alone, and season aches in slumber.
Salvation in a can, but the medicine is poison.
The universe divides on the head of a pin, or a toss of a coin
The energy it spins, in smoking coils.

It’s only in this heat. Only in this heartland
I can find my feet, and say cool down.

It’s only in this heat only in this heartland
I can find my feet and say cool down.
Say cool down x4
Everyone’s a winner here, every ones a winner in the shade.
